A Farmer and His Corn

I love the blogging community. Jeanne-Ann and I were chatting the other day and she told me that our friends the Roth's were planning on doing a corn maze. I love those things! I was blogging that evening and saw that Jen had posted a new blog about working on the corn maze. So I told her that we were excited about it and couldn't wait to experience it with the kids. Jeff, her husband, sent me an email as a result and offered me a piece of their pie they make for their country store if I would sit down and brainstorm ideas about how to get the word out.

A quick comment on a blog and I get a free piece of pie baby!!! It was wild forest berry pie and it was amazing with soft-serve ice cream on top. I also got this delicious raspberry lemonade all fruit smoothie! Yumm.

Anyhow, back to the point. Jeff showed me the design of the corn maze and shared with me how they are working with Finding Hope and Marion/Polk Food Share and helping others with this cool idea. They are going to have this sweet corn cannon that shoots ears of corn 1/4 mile and tons of other cool things. We talked about having a seek and find type of scavenger hunt throughout the corn maze with prizes and stuff and special nights for different groups like colleges and people wearing Give A Shirt shirts, etc. Pretty cool huh? I am actually pretty excited to see how it all turns out. I will let you know when they have more info, but be on the lookout for a twitter feed and facebook updates. I will even post a pic of what the maze is going to look like.
