Top 5 Superbowl Commercials

I do not watch a ton of sports. I love going to see them live, but I have other things to do and other shows to watch, it just doesn't seem like it fits. I do love to watch my Red Sox play though, especially when they play the Yankees. Yesterday was the Superbowl. I rarely care who is playing, unless it's the Cowboys or the 49ers. So when the Packers and the Steelers made it to the big day I don't have any strong urge to cheer for either one...except for the fact that growing up a Cowboys fan I learned to hate the Steelers. That was a long time ago.

Fast forward to today again. Superbowl Sunday is a day I love! A party. Food. Friends and family. And...commercials!!! So, that brings us to my top 5 favorite commercials of the Superbowl. Here we go.

Volkswagen - Darth Vader Kid

Best Buy - Justin Bieber & Ozzy Osbourne

Doritos - life

Pepsi Max - Love Hurts

Chevy - Tommy (Lassie)

We are the World

I remember very clearly 25 years ago when this song/video came out. I was a HUGE Michael Jackson fan at the time and the message that was being sent out to call attention to the difficulties in Africa was deeply impacting. I remember the emotions it invoked in me. It was amazing. My heart was drawn to Africa. Who would've guessed 25 years later I would be in the process of adopting 2 kids from Africa? Crazy.

I remember thinking how cool it was that a whole bunch of celebrities go together, pt aside their egos and gave their time to raise money and awareness to a part of the world that was going through a difficult time. I wanted to do something. I needed to do something. I didn't know what that would be. It was similar to Hands Across America. Similar in that it was hitting a cause that was important to me. I actually went to New York City with a bunch of people from my high school to participate in that one.

Now, 25 years later, they have updated the song. A new batch of celebrities (some returners); a new twist to the song (some rap in the end); a new cause (helping people who are suffering from the earthquake in Haiti). Check out the 2 videos below. How many celebs can you identify?
